Live a life by what we give

We make a living by what we get, we live a life by what we give. Interesting saying that i came across.

Usually i will be asking what do i get if i give? perhaps i should be asking what do i give if i want to really live?
Give my time, give my concern, give my care, give my money, give my thought......

Someone told me that we know that we love only when we give. Can be a sacrifice, can be a joy to give depends on the way to see it.
